The January 2025 Weli Travel Kids Umrah and Dubai Trip marked an extraordinary start to the year for families, schools, and individuals who joined us on this spiritually enriching and adventure-filled journey. From January 9th to January 18th, over 60 participants experienced three unforgettable days in Makkah, three in Madina, and four exploring the wonders of Dubai.

This year’s trip was particularly special as it marked the second-ever Kids Umrah since Weli Travel’s foundation in 2015. In addition to children, parents and adults joined the journey, making it an inspiring religious and cultural experience for all. The youngest pilgrim, 5-year-old Abdulrahman Mukisa, was accompanied by his father, while the age bracket started at 8 years, with younger children attending with a parent. We were also honored to host notable figures, including Hajjat Shifrah Lukwago, a commissioner in the Uganda Human Rights Commission, and the former Little Miss Tourism 2023, Queen Aman Acen Ochaya, along with their families.

Over 16 Schools Represented
This year’s Kids Umrah saw participation from over 16 schools, including Taibah International School, Turkish Light Academy, Kabojja Junior School, Naalya Secondary School Namugongo, Nabisunsa Girls’ Secondary School, Richdad, City Parents, Aga Khan, Green Vale Eldoret Kenya, and Nova Pioneer Kenya, among others. It was a beautiful sight to see students from different institutions unite in their shared purpose of strengthening their faith and values.

Additionally, three students from Nabisunsa Girls’ Secondary School and their teacher were part of this journey, having been awarded Umrah by Weli Travel after emerging as winners in the Quran competitions. This token of gratitude was a heartfelt gesture to emphasize the importance of the Holy Quran and inspire young Muslims to stay connected to their faith.

Leadership and Safety
The kids were guided by a dedicated team in addition to their parents. Their primary responsibility was to oversee the safety and well-being of the young pilgrims, ensuring a smooth and secure experience.

A Trip to Remember
This year’s Kids Umrah was more than a journey; it was a transformative experience that combined faith, education, and recreation. Children, parents, and adults left with their spirits uplifted, their faith deepened, and their hearts filled with cherished memories.
